- Provide free basic water and sanitation service;
- Eliminate the backlog on water and sanitation;
- Eradicate bucket system;
- Operate and maintain water and sanitation schemes;
- Develop transport plans;
- Maximise job creation through the Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP); and
- Provide support to the eight local municipalities residing within the Chris Hani DM Area.
