#ChrisHaniMonth: Over 200 young people from all local municipalities gathered at Thobi Kula Indoor Sport Centre today to witness a Skills Development Programme Launch led by the CHDM Executive Mayor, Cllr Lusanda Sizani. The Skills Development Programme seeks to promote economic growth by equipping Young people with the knowledge, skills, and competencies needed to thrive in the workforce.
The Executive Mayor handed over tool boxes to 18 carpentry learners who are currently placed at the Komani and Frontier Hospitals on a three-year apprenticeship contract under the Construction Education and Training Authority (CETA). CHDA has so far solicited funds from SETAs such as HGSETA, AGRISETA, HWSETA, and CETA to advance individual skill sets targeting products of local institutions of higher learning.
