08 community members will benefit from the paving construction project by SLS Civils for Ward 11 and Ward 14 of Emalahleni Local Municipality.
Acting Executive Mayor, Cllr Nobantu Mcingwane, appreciated the attendance and outlined the scope of work for a R2.5 million disaster paving project that will be implemented over a period of six months.
Welcoming all guests, the Mayor, Cllr Nontombizanele Koni, emphasized the importance of the District Development Model (DDM) approach in ensuring proper coordination of government funding and interventions.
Community member, Fundiswa Ngxovana from Ward 11, raised a concern that the same faces keep getting jobs in construction projects. She pleaded for a fair distribution of opportunities across all genders, noting that people from other areas are often prioritized.
