INTERVENTION TEAM TO ASSIST EXPAND FOCUS FOR ACCESS TO CLEAN DRINKING WATER

CHDM is exploring use of springs in an effort to ensure that communities have access to clean drinking water across the district.
The focus on spring water has led to the establishment of an intervention team which comprises six (6) members with different expertise on spring water connection.
The team is currently deployed in Ward 06 at the DR AB Xuma Local Municipality focusing on spring identification, cleaning, protection and connection.
The Executive Mayor, Cllr Lusanda Sizani welcomed the team on board. “We have a responsibility to service our communities all the time and we are committed in ensuring access to clean drinking water in all areas. Through this team, we will be able to supply large parts of the district municipality with this natural resource using available springs in our area”.
All areas without water infrastructure within the district municipality will be prioritized targeting those with springs.
