KING BUYELEKHAYA DALINDYEBO TO PAY COURTESY VISIT TO CHDM

Chris Hani District Municipality (CHDM) is in discussions with AbaThembu Royal Kingdom to prepare for the King’s courtesy visit to the district. This comes after a meeting with a delegation sent to the district by the King of AbaThembu, King Buyelekhaya Dalindyebo recently. The AbaThembu Royal Kingdom delegation led by Chief Babalo Papu briefed CHDM political leadership on the planned visit by the King saying it is part of the King’s ongoing programme around the Kingdom.
The courtesy visit will enable engagement on critical issues which include amongst others introducing planned programmes by the Kingdom, issues of Gender Based Violence, Moral Regeneration and other related issues as well ensuring closer working relations going forward.
CHDM represented by the Deputy Executive Mayor, Cllr Noncedo September-Caba; Council Speaker, Cllr Mxolisi Koyo and Chief Whip Cllr Noluvo Bikwana welcomed the delegation. The Deputy Executive Mayor, Cllr September-Caba highlighted the path that CDHM has undertaken in sustaining growth through the people and strides made to flatten the curve during the Corona Virus pandemic that has caused great pain and anxiety across the globe. She further touched on the issue of gender based violence that the country and the district is also confronted with and reflected on possible areas of collaboration that will see the district to greater heights.
Chief Babalo Papu who is also the Chief of Protocol for the Kingdom, was accompanied by Chief Phathisizwe Head of Security Cluster, Prince Zwelenqaba Dalindyebo Head of ICT, Chief Jezile, Chris Hani Chairperson of Local House of Traditional Leaders and a member of CDHM Council and Mr Mandla Kwandlwa from the Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (Cogta). Mr Pawulos Funani the Acting Regional Director based in Chris Hani Dstrict from Cogta also joined the delegation.
The King is expected to be accompanied by Queen Nokwanda Dalindyebo and the date of the visit will yet be announced.
