Lower Lufutha and Manzimdaka Communities in Sakhisizwe LM have been engaged following the scourge of vandalism, theft and illegal connection to CHDM infrastructure around the district.

Mayoral Committee members Cllr Mthethunzima Jack and Cllr Siyabulela Nxozi led a delegation of Cllr’s and officials, visiting these areas to create awareness on the dangers and the cost of vandalism to infrastructure appealing to communities to report such occurrences.

Executive Mayor Cllr Wongama Gela conducted a project walk-about in the Tsomo River Abstraction and Water Treatment Works, to check on progress and confirm functionality of the major elements of the project.

More than 40 000 households are set to benefit from the Tsomo River Abstraction and Water Treatment Works that is near completion. Investment on the project totals R215m - 1692 jobs were created during construction and locally based SMMEs were utilized.
