FUNCTIONS and OBJECTIVES

Ensures smooth relations between political parties represented in council
Ensures cohesion and discipline among all public representatives of the ruling party and monitors their accountability to their constituencies.
Their Chief Whip ensures equitable representation in the committees of Council
Supervises and manages the council caucus, further ensuring the efficient running and coordination of constituency work of Councillors
To support all whips through efficient management
To coordinate and analyse Councillors’ monthly reports
To provide input towards the political work of chief whips
To provide logistical support to Councillors’ constituency work
To serve as a link between the administrative arm and the legislative arm of Council
