SPRING WATER HANDOVER

SPRING WATER HANDOVER | The Department of Rural Development & Agrarian Reform (DRDAR) working with Chris Hani District Municipality (CHDM) is currently handing over Spring Water Scheme in KuManzana, Engcobo -Dr AB Xuma Local Municipality.
Speaking during the handover, CHDM Executive Mayor, Cllr Lusanda Sizani and MEC for DRDAR, Hon. Nonkqubela Pieters told the community that the project benefits over 200 households. In the construction stage of the scheme, 100% of local labour was utilised and the community was encouraged to protect this infrastructure from vandalism and theft. This water scheme is primarily utilised for human consumption, clinics, schools and watering/ irrigation of household gardens. The community is also given the agricultural inputs such as feed, wheelbarrows, seedlings and water pipes for household gardening.
