UPDATE ON WATER OUTAGE FOR EZIBELENI AND QUEENDUSTRIA

The planned maintenance in Ezibeleni High level pumping mainline which included Old plant refurbishment of filters by CHDM has long been completed. However, the ongoing work at Gwadana road by a road construction contractor is seriously affecting water supply in the Ezibeleni and Queendastria.

The road contractor needed to lower the pumping main crossing Gwadana road to continue with the road construction and this is taking longer than expected. Our pumping has been affected, as a result our reservoirs are empty leading to disruption in water supply.

We are aware of the significant impact this has had on residents and businesses. Our team has been working closely with the road contractor to ensure that the work is accelerated.

Additional water tankers have been deployed in the area and these will continue until the matter is resolved. However due to the vastness of the area, these are not sufficient to meet the demand.
