CHDM Executive Mayor, Cllr Lusanda Sizani and EMLM Executive Cllr Madoda Papiyana visited Zulukama Traditional Authorities in Hewu, Ward 22 as part of Water Tuesdays Programme. During this visit the mayors engaged the community on roads, water issues and other challenges such as unemployment.
In the engagement, the following key short term solutions were provided:
* Replacement of old, broken and stolen engines in water schemes within 3 months
* Addition of 25 more leaners to the ongoing Labour Activation Programme through Aggregation (Skills Development Programme)
* Enoch Mgijima LM to enter into an agreement with the Department of Transport to fix strategic roads with speed.
The municipalities are encouraged to continue working closely with tribal authorities for the improvement of services to our communities.
