Winter Fire Season Launch
Chris Hani District Municipality, together with Vuyisile Mini Local Municipality, hosted a Winter Fire Season Launch at Mncuncuzo Village, Ward 16. This launch brought together key stakeholders to ready them for the fight against veld and forest fires in Vuyisile Mini LM.
Working alongside the Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment, the Department of Agriculture, and the Working on Fire team based at Nomadambi Forest in Vuyisile Mini LM, we are strengthening our collective response and readiness for the seasons ahead said Vuyisile Mini’s Cllr N. Mafanya.
The launch was also a platform to declare the CHDM Fire Season which starts on the 1st June 2026, for awareness, and equipping communities with ways to be protected against all fires.
CHDM handed over fire equipment to the local fire protection association.
