Damaging gale force winds, rain, and snow have interrupted electricity supply to about 300 000 customers in various areas of the Eastern Cape. Affected areas include Mthatha, Qumbu, Tsolo, Elliotdale, Matatiele, KwaBhaca, Bizana, Emaxesibeni, Khowa, Komani, Dutywa, Butterworth, Cofimvaba.
Eskom teams are preparing to make the areas safe and start to restore electricity supply. We appeal to customers for patience during this difficult period. All electricity appliances and wires should be treated as if they are live.
