Agricultural Show 2025

The Chris Hani District Agricultural Show 2025 led by MEC Nonceba Kotsiwe and supported by CHDM leadership — MMC for Budget & Treasury Cllr Sinomtha Lali Madubedube, MMC for Corporate Services Cllr Thumeka Bikwana, took place at Thobi Kula Indoor Sport Centre with great success today.
All six municipalities and four agricultural schools showcased their talent through exhibitions, with outstanding participants crowned as winners:
Schools Category
• Winner: Freemantle Boys High – R4500
• 2nd Runner-up: Clarkbury High – R3500
• 1st Runner-up: Bhengu High – R2000
Farmers/Stalls Category
• Winner: Enoch Mgijima – R20 000
• 2nd Runner-up: Dr AB Xhuma – R15 000
• 1st Runner-up: Zebra (Intsika Yethu) – R10 000
The Department also awarded R5 000 to each participating municipality in recognition of their commitment to the agricultural sector.
MEC Kotsiwe encouraged farmers to continue producing quality primary and value-added agricultural products to strengthen food security and economic growth in the district.
