Public Partication Week

#PublicParticationWeek | Eastern Cape Legislative Committee oversight meeting on disaster management centre functionality and compliance as required by Disaster Management Act is underway in Chris Hani District Municipality.
This committee ensures the implementation of Disaster Management Act by the centres. Also, assist the municipalities at the parliamentary level on facilitation of resources to ensure full implementation of the act. CHDM is one of the districts prone to disasters and the municipality is committed to serve and protect its people from disasters.

Xashimbe Abattoir management

Today CHDM Executive Mayor, Cllr Lusanda Sizani and EMLM Executive Mayor, Cllr Madoda Papiyana gave support and words of encouragement to Xashimbe Abattoir management during trials of the abattoir by Department of Agriculture in Komani, Enoch Mgijima LM.
This abattoir has been closed for a while and it is now resuscitated, created job opportunities for the people of Enoch Mgijima. In terms of agro-processing, all farmers in the district that are supported by CHDA through RAFI Beef Production Programme and Feedlots will also benefit from the commissioning of the abattoir.

Child Headed / Deceased: Death Certificate of parents.

Project Handover

Executive Mayor, Cllr Lusanda Sizani is handing over two projects this morning at Indwe Township. Refurbishment of Water Infrastructure at 18 million and the Upgrading of Indwe Sanitation Infrastructure at 14 million, both by Zutari (Pty) Ltd.
These projects will create employment opportunities for Ward 15 and 16 of Emalahleni Local Municipality, while also enhancing the standard of water and sanitation service rendered by the district.
Emalahleni LM Mayor, Cllr Nontombizanele Koni welcomed both projects stating that they are a reflection of a government at work.

Freemenlte Boys High

CHDM Executive Mayor, Cllr Lusanda Sizani joined by Whip of Council, CHDM Portfolio Heads and Emalahleni LM Mayor visited Freemenlte Boys High in Cacadu. The Executive Mayor provided school support material to the learners and identified other areas that needs support such as maintenance of amenities within the school.
The municipality also committed to support farming activities of the school through its Local Economic Development Programmes.

Stakeholder Engagement

Eastern Cape SALGA Committee for Infrastructure and Energy Chairperson Cllr Lusanda Sizani led SALGA visit to CHDM Water Treatment Works to identify areas of support, collaboration and information sharing.
