Chris Hani DM distances itself from an unknown message circulating around, which is warning people of an impending closure of water supply, allegedly due to shortage of chemicals.
The municipality dismisses the rumour with the malice it deserves as its contents are misleading and causing unnecessary panic to the community.
The district municipality always issues out official notices whenever our water service is interrupted.
We plead with community to be vigilant against misinformation and fake news.

Unplanned Water Interruption : Cacadu (Emalahleni) 06/11/20

Customes are notified that there is an unplanned water interruption in the Machubeni Water Treatment Works due to power outage. Our reservoirs are dry and that resulted to some parts of Mkhaphusi, Machubeni villages including Cacadu Town be without water.

Long Live the spirit of Vuyisile Mini Long Live…
Local, Provincial and National government leaders gathered at Mhlahlana to honour the Reburial of the remains of the galant fighter, Vuyisile Mini.
Minister for Justice and Correctional Services, Ronald Lamola, Minister for Defence and Military Veterans Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula, Premier of the Eastern Cape Lubabalo Oscar Mabuyane, CHDM Exevutive Mayor Cllr Wongama Gela, Intsika Yethu Mayor Cllr Bongani Mpengesi leading their respective delegations have landed in Mhlahlana Village to honour this Reburial Ceremony.
This ceremony coincides with the 56th anniversary of Mr Mini’s execution. The President of South Africa declared the reburial of the remains of Mr Mini a Special Provincial Official Funeral Category 1. Mr Mini is a Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC)-identified victim who was hanged on death row on 06 November 1964.

CHDM CANCER WALK

Closing a “Breast Cancer Awareness Month”, October, CHDM Deputy Executive Mayor, Cllr Noncedo September-Caba, MM Mr Gcobani Mashiyi led a Cancer Walk around Berry Dam, Komani, in support of a nationwide drive to raise awareness about Breast Cancer through the Wellness Unit.
The programme was conducted in partnership with the Department of Health and Enoch Mgijima LM.

ALERT : Water Supply Interruption – 29/09/20

Residents in Ngcobo Town are informed that there will be water interruptions in the area due to technical failures at the Xuka Pump station and Gcotyana river that has dried up due to persisting drought.
Water rationing will be effected from today 10am until 5pm daily until the the situation improves.
